This Valentine’s Day, you can send a message of love and encouragement to a child or parent in The Family Room community. With a donation of any amount, you’ll choose a Valentine message to share with families impacted by foster care — and we’ll send a Valentine back to you, too. Together, we can remind families that they are not alone — and that our community is standing with them.
Bonus: With each donation, you’ll be entered into a raffle for a little extra love! Five lucky winners will receive their choice of a Family Room water tumbler or coffee mug.
No personal information is shared, and messages are delivered anonymously.
About The Family Room
The mission of The Family Room is to increase the likelihood that children living in foster care can be successfully reunited with their birth parents.
Family Room provides nurturing, home-like visitation spaces for families experiencing foster care separation, offering a supportive alternative to traditional supervised visitations. By creating environments filled with warmth, compassion, and dignity, we help families reconnect emotionally and practically, providing critical moments of healing, trust, and genuine togetherness. Our spaces welcome families in ways that affirm their worth, strengthen family bonds, and build pathways toward lasting stability and connection.

The Family Room operates at multiple locations around the Portland Metro area. Our model partners with local faith communities for space, volunteers and meals.
